Monthly Plan- November 2012

Teaching Preschool has been rather tough according to my ideal.  I am going to take a break from the regular plan and focus on some seasonal activities!

PSST...special offer at the end of this long post!

BIBLE

*Bible Verses: We use verses from Songs for Saplings. I love that all the verses are songs. It makes it so easy to remember.

-M verse- "A Merry heart does good like a medicine."   Proverbs 17:22
-Thanksgiving verse- "Be thankful to him and bless his name, for the Lord is good." Psalm 100:4

Preschool Lessons (finished):

All About Reading

This month we started using real curriculum from All About Learning Press- All About Reading Pre-1 Level for pre-readers.  I made a recent post about the material which I just reviewed.

I like using this because I don't have to plan anything and the activities are intentional, fun and full of great learning!  Thumbs up for All about Learning!

Be sure to pick up your FREE activity book from All About Learning.

*Brightly Beaming Toddler:   Jessna is now 18 months old.  She joins us for morning circle time, but I haven't really had much of a chance to work with her.  It's hard to juggle two VERY active kids.

This curriculum includes 24 lesson plans.  There are 2 lessons for each month of your toddler's life from 13 months to 24 months of age.  You can spend approximately 2 weeks on each lesson plan with your toddler.  The lessons are geared to a toddler's development as he/she progresses through the second year of life.  Keep everything fun and only do activities when your toddler wants to.

*Sensory Play:
-water play
-playdough
-rice

We will be using a lot of these activities when we learn the letters!

*Daily Music time: Songs from Music Notes and CD's we get at the library.

*Art:

I get a lot of these skills/chores from What Every Child Should Know Along the Way (Teaching practical life skills in every stage of life.) by Gail Martin.  I HIGHLY recommend this book that has so many practical ways to teacher your child along with many Bible verses. I will be sharing this book in the fall during my Thursday parenting series. (Oops, I have not got around to doing this, so I will be postponing this series to sometime in 2013.)

ONE last thing...get ready for December early with Truth in the Tinsel (only $7.99).  But you can get 20% off with coupon code: MILKNHONEY.

AND you may also purchase these cute Printable Ornaments that you can use with the book!! If you don't have time to put together all the supplies for crafts these are a great alternative.

Please note, I am no longer using Mail Chimp as Feedburner is working again!  So if you are receiving this email, then you are subscribed.  If not, subscribe below.  So sorry for all the confusion.  Thanks, Shonda
