L is for Ladybug

This week we learned about ladybugs using Lightning Bug Literacy's Creative Explorations Kit. We read The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle before every activity.  Here are some of the activities that we enjoyed:

Ladybug emotions

size sequencing

Ladybug spots

Letter L

We read this book.  It had many wonderful concepts such as time, emotions, different animals and what was unique about them and sizes!

D is for Dinosaurs

This past month with the transition of having a new baby, I diverted from our regular Brightly Beaming Resources lessons, but I was able to fit in a little bit of "schooling" using Lightning Bug Literacy's Creative Explorations Kits.  We had a lot of fun studying Dinosaurs.  Here are a few of the activities that we enjoyed:

Dinosaur, dinosaur up on my head

Lacing activity- great small motor skill

Create a dinosaur with letter D and shapes

Play mat with counting

Here is the theme book for the kit:

Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs

We also did a little song to the tune of 5 little ducks:

One dinosaur went out to play
Over the hills and far away
He had such enormous fun that he called for another dinosaur to come
"Oh, dinosaur" (say in loudest voice)
(Beat legs as if a dinosaur is coming-Shrade's favorite part)

Two dinosaurs went out to play...
