Summer Worship Series: 1001 Ways to Help Your Child Walk With God
My mom gave me this book 1001 Ways to Help Your Child Walk With God when I first started teaching Kindergarten. It was many fun ways for families to embark on walking with God. The chapters are as follows: Bible Art, Bible Acting, Bible Recipes, Bible Science, Bible Music, Bible Agents (mystery), Bible Games and Activities, Bible Laughs and Bible Listening. Each chapter is filled with ideas and a Bible verse precedes each activity. There is also a great index in the back of Bible verses used. If you are studying a certain verse, look it up and do the activity. What is a better way to introduce your child to God's Word than by actively engaging in it? Enjoy!

Summer Reading Challenge Week #7
Week #1- 22
Week #2- 36
Week #3- 39
Week #4- 24
Week #5- 47
Week #6- 31
Wow, it's really hard to find reading time with taking care of a toddler and baby. It seems like every time I want to read either with both of them or just my toddler, the baby cries. But I keep at it. I know it will even out pretty soon.
We are on vacation next week so we will see you back in 2 weeks!
Pocket Purifier Review/Giveaway
I wouldn't say that I'm a germ-a-phobe, but I do like to wash my hands often and good. But what about all the stuff that I touch? Ew, what could be lurking there? I can control a lot what's in my house, but even still I'm not totally on top of it and who has time to wipe down stuff all the time. Tada, here comes the pocket purifier! This is a handy dandy little device that quickly de-germs areas that you touch in 10-15 seconds. Just hold the pocket purifier over what you want to eliminate germs from, turn it on and wait 10-15 seconds. The UV light, which is the same as that used in hospitals to sterilize surgical equipment, gets the job done. It kills germs that cause flu, MRSA and other bugs like e-coli, salmonella, bacteria and other harmful pathogens.
I put this to work right away on my computer, refrigerator door, light switches, doorknobs and pacifier. This kills the DNA of germs so that they don't multiply. I hate getting sick and just to think of all the bugs that are sitting around waiting to get to me makes me nauseated! This little gadget is a simple and effective way to get rid of germs in seconds. It's also small enough to pack around in your purse or diaper bag. It destroys those hidden germs with no chemicals. Note: Do not look directly at the UV light. There is also a built in flashlight.
Buy it: I feel safe and confident using this product. It retails for $19.95 and is available in black and pink. To purchase this product got to www.purelyproducts.com. This product is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). Check out this new, revolutionary way to fight germs!
*This product was provided to me free of charge for the purpose of this review. This is my honest opinion of this product and no monetary compensation was received for my opinion.*

Learning Activity: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (Guest Post)
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a favorite book of many children. It has colorful pictures and is repetitive, which is important for speech delayed children. Long before a child's vocabulary is developed, he or she may be able to say BOOM BOOM or even boo boo as part of the fun in this book.
We made this footprint tree. I painted the trunk ahead of time. Then I painted her foot green and pressed it to the paper. We created the footprints on the floor, for ease. The coconuts are M's thumbprints. With our alphabet magnets I thought we would act out the book. Unfortunately, we made this on construction paper. Our ABC letters are not strong enough to hold the paper to the refrigerator, or even to stay up easily. If your goal is to be able to imitate the book using your magnet letters I would recommend using light-weight paper.
Annette blogs about what she is passionate about (food, books, crafts, family, and faith) at Live, Learn, Love. Her own children and the blogging world inspire her every day!
I love Annette's creativity! She inspires me! Hope you have enjoyed getting to know Annette. Be sure to stop by her blog and show some love.

Summer Worship Series: The Jesus Storybook Bible
"Every story whispers His name." Yes, that is the subtitle of this beautiful Bible story book. I was so fortunate to win this book a few years ago on a blog giveaway. This Bible is completely illustrated in full color with stunning pictures on quality paper. There are also 3 CD's included that contain all the stories in audio format. Recently I have started playing the CD's during breakfast so we get a few Bible stories to start our day. Listening to a CD is different than mama reading. I am so impressed with The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name and I would recommend this for every household as treasure of God's Word. The subtitle explains just how each story is told. The way God works is weaved through each story and as each story unfolds, children learn that God is right in the middle of the action.

What's Cooking? Chewy Crispy Rice Bites
Shrade put the balls on the pan
Yield: approximately 2 dozen small balls
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
1/2 cup almond butter (or other nut butter of choice or coconut cream concentrate)
1/3 cup brown rice syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups brown rice cereal (I just used Rice Crispies)
1/4 cup shredded coconut
Mix the almond butter and brown rice syrup together in a medium saucepan. Stir and heat until melted and bubbly; approximately 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
Roll into small balls with oiled or wet hands to prevent sticking and chill in the refrigerator or freezer.
Eat!

Summer Worship Series- My First Study Bible
My parents are so generous and thoughtful. They have given Shrade so many Bible story books and I thought that one would be enough. But each is very unique and for different age levels. This one: My First Study Bible: Exploring God's Word On My Own! is perfect for reading to my son right now.
This Bible book goes through each book of the Bible and picks a few stories from each. The stories are told in first person by the main character. "Hi, I'm Adam, the first person God made." There is a picture of that person and throughout the story my son can point out that character and name him or her. The stories are simple, yet follow the Bible and there are also little inserts that give more information.
At the end of each story is a Think About This box, where the reader is given some points from the story and how it applies to them. I like that each story focuses on God and what He says or does. The pictures are incredible and the stories are short, but very interesting.
I can't wait to sit down and read God's Word to my son each day with this Bible. I can see us reading through this every year and eventually he will read it to me!

Heavenly Homemakers: FREE Preschool Activity Ebook
I was just reminiscing about how I got started in the blog world. Well, a friend of mine posted a link for this preschool activity ebook. I had never heard of an ebook and I had never visited a blog besides making my own and looking at my sister's. Anyway, I clicked and found Heavenly Homemakers and Laura's recipes! There were links to other recipe blogs and oops, I was lost in blog land. So here is the FREE preschool activity book that first got me hooked!
What's on our Bookshelf? Opposites
Sandra Boynton never disappoints! This book about opposites not only has adorable pictures and features 2-3 opposites per two page spread, but they all rhyme as well. I also love the font of the words as it shows exactly what the word is. Tall is very tall! This is such a fun way to learn opposites. So get going and be silly with Sandra Boynton!

Brightly Beaming Resources: Week #11 Moon
This week was really fun because we actually got to see a crescent moon outside! We loved reading the books about the moon and learning the poem "The Man in the Moon."
I've decided to use No Time for Flashcards Letter of the Week crafts to learn our letters. I'm not much into crafts, but I found these to be very EASY. I also bought the Alphabet Craft eBook that was on sale a few weeks ago. I can definitely do these! Shrade is excited to share these projects with daddy when he gets home.

This week we learned number 11 so we put 11 beads on the string and made a necklace.
PS. You don't know how many times I have to tell him to look at the camera! It's a miracle if he smiles! Silly boy!

Summer Worship Series- Seeds Family Worship
I can't tell you what it means to hear my little 2.5 year old son singing God's Word! I can only attribute it to Seeds Family Worship. They have done an excellent job of producing a selection of CD's that hide God's Word in the hearts of children through song. The tunes are catchy and with thought provoking lyrics which are Scripture verses. These are excellent to have playing in the car. I actually won both of these CD's from blog giveaways. The best thing about this series is that each album has 2 CD's exactly the same so you can share with a friend. This way we plant "seeds." So I encourage you to pick these up TODAY and start learning Scripture thorough music. You will have so many great teaching opportunities!
