Love and Logic chapter 1
I am so glad I found this book called Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood by Jim and Charles Fay. I just finished chapter 1 and I wanted to share a few thoughts with you.
Here are my thoughts:
For parenting to be a joy both now and later, I must apply some good love and logic to everyday situations with my son. I can build self-concept by being empathetic, understanding and giving unconditional love. I can share the control by giving choices that will make both of us happy. I can learn to give consequence with empathy and let my son learn to think for himself.
I even started doing some of this today. My son climbed up on the couch, but was frustrated on how to get down. So I offered him the choice to ask me for help or let him figure out how he could do it by himself (he's only 16 months). He held his hands out to me indicating that he wanted my help, but I actually showed him how to get down himself. It was a great learning time for both of us.
I look forward to sharing more from this great book!

Have you ever read Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline by Becky Bailey? I learned what you posted from that book. It's a great read. I'll have to pick up Log and Logic!
