Always Daddy's Princess by Karen Kingsbury Book Review

New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Kingsbury Writes a Heartfelt Children’s Book for Fathers and Daughters

“Blow the trumpet, sound the horn.
Daddy’s princess has been born!”

My review:
Get your tissues out!!  This book may be written for the reading/listening level of a young girl, but I honestly feel it was written for dads and maybe moms too.  A dad welcomes his little princess and watches her grow and develop until she is having her first little princess and sharing with her dad the joy of a daughter.  The story is told in rhyme and the pictures are captivating, but don't be fooled by this sweet book.  You will feel a rush of emotions as you barely make it to the last page.  Karen Kingsbury has that ability to reach deep into the soul of parents.  And each page has a beautiful Scripture to enhance the text.  This one is a keeper!

*I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Zonderkidz.  All opinions are my own.*

#1 New York Times bestselling author and America’s inspirational novelist, Karen Kingsbury, pens a heartwarming story of a little girl and her loving father in a beautifully illustrated new children’s book releasing in time for Father’s Day, ALWAYS DADDY’S PRINCESS (Zonderkidz; $15.99; March 2013).

Written for readers aged four to seven, ALWAYS DADDY’S PRINCESS captures the journey of a father and daughter in a poignant story of the girl’s growth from childhood to motherhood.

The father experiences the blessings of his little girl through tea parties, soccer games, braces on her teeth, and even shopping, until she finally reaches her wedding day and later the birth of a daughter, a princess of her own.

A sought after speaker who has sold more than 15 million copies of her award-winning books in print, Kingsbury offers a sweet reminder of the precious bond among family members, especially dads and their “princess” daughters, with her emotive rhyming and playful prose.
Valeria Docampo’s stunning illustrations are vibrant hues of pink and purple. And the book’s glittery cover will dazzle little readers.
A wonderful Father’s Day present, ALWAYS DADDY’S PRINCESS will provide hours of priceless quality time for little girls and their doting fathers for years to come.
