Free and Fun Friday: Fall Activities

I LOVE finding FREE activities.  Here are a few that we take part of during the fall:

We like to go to the Puyallup Fair (the biggest fair is Western WA).  The best thing are the Fisher scones!  The first day of the fair is free if you bring canned food.  We like to go see the animals.  We also buy a scone and a cow chip cookie.  We haven't yet tried the rides yet, but we would have to pay for them.  We just enjoy walking around.  Several years ago when we had no children we would go to the concerts because they were free if you sat in the grandstands.

Play to Learn is for parents, grandparents, neighbors and family friends who nurture children 6 years old and younger. There's a new theme each week with individual play, group activities, dancing, songs and circle time for children and adults to enjoy together.
Play to Learn supports caregivers with helping children to become school ready through social and play experiences. Each week participants are offered a handout full of information and ideas for at home play.  We also provide a take home activity once per session that encourages fun-filled experiences at home!

We love to go to this program because we can do many things that we can't just do at home.  And best of all, it's free!

One day a month our zoo has a free day for Tacoma residents.  How cool is that?  We love to take advantage of that.  We try to visit a different area each time.  Shrade is getting to know the animals well.  It will be perfect when we start homeschooling soon.

We also go to library story times once a week.

And once a month all the museums in downtown are free from 5-8 pm.  We have visited the art museum and history museum.  These are great outings for our family.

What free activities do you have in your area?  Look for them and take advantage of them!
